The 2011 season will run throughout the third and fourth terms at participating independent cinemas. AusCivics is pleased to be partnering with the Independent Cinemas Association of Australia (ICAA) with hundreds of member screens readily accessible for most schools. The AusCivics team is available to help you facilitate your own festival session. Please download the attached acceptance form and fax or email to the CEFA/AusCivics team. We will help connect you with your nearest/preferred ICAA cinema. Final session times will be by arrangement between the cinema and your school. If you need direct assistance at any time please call toll free: 1800 009 855 or email.

Community Partnerships

To crystallize and make practical the idea of helpful engagement AusCivics will choose a community partner each year, helping them promote, fundraise, and galvanise their community efforts. The 2011 community partner is Paralympics. The Australian Paralympic Committee and member organisations are currently preparing athletes and teams for the Olympic Summer Games in London, 2012. A critical goal of Paralympics is to assist member organisations to develop wider access and engagement for disability sport across Australia. In addition, these athletes can serve as powerful role models that can help all Australians, not just the disabled, increase their sense of vision, hope, optimism, and the courage to dream.

Another of our partner organisations is CEFA (Constitution Education Fund Australia). CEFA has a long tradition of implementing significant projects with volunteer support. This includes help with CEFA School Parliaments, the Governor-General's Undergraduate Essay Competition and other projects.

The Australian Electoral Commission and state electoral commissions require many thousands of assistants at each election. And of course, there are many volunteer opportunities at the AusCivics Film Festivals.

If you would like to become a volunteer for any of the above or would like help to register your interest with another community group but you are not sure who to contact, we’ll help direct your enquiry.
